Saturday, April 25 is World Malaria Day, an occasion instituted by the World Health Assembly to raise awareness about the deadly, mosquito-borne disease. Among those who are working to combat malaria is DesignMedix Inc., an early stage drug developer.

DesignMedix's CEO, Lynnor Stevenson, spoke with Adam Ware of the Oregon Enterpreneurs Network about her trackrecord as an entrepreneur, the company's recent success at the OEN Angel Oregon Conference, and the path forward.

DesignMedix, a biopharmaceutical company developing small molecule drugs to combat drug resistance in multiple diseases, including malaria,won the 3.5 minute Ignite style presentation at the Smart Ups Pub Talk for the Willamette Angel Conference.

DesignMedix was chosen as one of “The Best of Oregon’s Innovators, ” earning a spot as one of six finalists from a field of almost 50 companies vying for two Angel Oregon investment prizes.  DesignMedix will present at the Angel Oregon conference March 12, 2009 in Portland, Oregon.
